Terms of Service
Effective Date: 03/06/2026 · Version: 2026-11-01 · San Francisco, CA 94114
Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Dodo's website, applications, and veterinary-clinic communication and workflow software services (the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to Dodo's Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Services.
No Veterinary, Medical, or Professional Advice
Dodo provides administrative, communication, and workflow automation tools for veterinary clinics and related operations. The Services do not provide veterinary advice, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for the professional judgment of licensed veterinarians or other qualified professionals. Customer remains solely responsible for all clinical, medical, and operational decisions, including any review of information generated through the Services. Dodo is not responsible for outcomes arising from reliance on AI-generated, automated, or platform-generated content without appropriate human review.
Pet Owners and Booking Portal Users
This section applies when you use Dodo's client-facing booking portal, web widget, phone, SMS, email, or other communication tools to interact with a veterinary or dental clinic.
Dodo provides technology that helps clinics communicate with clients, collect information, route requests, and schedule appointments. Dodo does not provide veterinary, dental, medical, or emergency care. Any care, diagnosis, treatment, pricing, cancellation policy, appointment availability, or clinic-specific decision is provided by the applicable clinic, not Dodo.
When you use the booking portal or provide your contact information, you agree that Dodo may process the information you submit on behalf of the clinic and may use it to help identify you, verify your contact details, schedule or manage appointments, send appointment-related communications, and support clinic workflows.
By providing your phone number — including through the clinic's online booking and scheduling portal, where this SMS consent disclosure is shown — you agree that Dodo and/or the clinic may contact you about appointment-related matters, including confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, verification codes, scheduling updates, and other service-related messages. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.
Appointments requested or scheduled through Dodo are subject to clinic availability and the clinic's own policies. If you believe your pet or patient is experiencing an emergency, do not rely on the booking portal. Contact your clinic directly, call an emergency provider, or seek immediate care.
Your use of Dodo is also subject to Dodo's Privacy Policy, which explains how Dodo collects, uses, and protects personal information.
Account Responsibilities
You must provide accurate information and protect your login credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for ensuring that your users comply with these Terms. You must promptly notify Dodo if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or any other security incident involving the Services.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Services, interfere with the operation or security of the Services, upload or transmit harmful or unlawful content, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer the Services except to the extent prohibited by law, or use the Services in violation of applicable law. Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of access.
Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Services is subject to Dodo's Privacy Policy. Dodo implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data and other sensitive information processed through the Services. Where applicable, Dodo processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and other relevant privacy laws. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, the Services are not intended for the processing of protected health information regulated by HIPAA.
Data Ownership
As between the parties, you retain ownership of the data, content, and information you submit to the Services ("Customer Data"). You grant Dodo a limited, non-exclusive right to host, copy, process, transmit, and otherwise use Customer Data solely as necessary to provide, maintain, support, secure, and improve the Services in accordance with these Terms and any applicable agreement between the parties. Dodo does not sell or rent Customer Data.
Subscription Term, Monthly Billing and Automatic Renewal
This section applies only to a new business subscription for which an authorized customer representative expressly accepts the subscription agreement during onboarding. It does not convert an existing monthly subscription into an annual contract. A separately signed agreement continues to control in the event of a conflict.
The first three paid months are month-to-month. Any free sandbox or trial period is separate and does not count toward those three paid months. The paid start date, annual commitment start date, and first renewal date are shown in your subscription agreement before you accept.
Unless you cancel before the annual commitment start date, your subscription then enters a twelve-month commitment. Fees remain billed monthly throughout the commitment; monthly invoicing does not make the annual term cancelable month-to-month. Your accepted agreement records the applicable currency, usage rates, monthly minimums and caps. Usage charges and applicable taxes may apply.
After the first twelve-month commitment, the subscription automatically renews for successive twelve-month terms unless you give notice of non-renewal at least thirty calendar days before the next term starts. Your agreement shows the first notice deadline. During the initial three paid months, you may give cancellation notice before the annual commitment starts; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid monthly period and prevents the annual commitment from starting.
Send cancellation or non-renewal notice to legal@dodo.ai, identifying your clinic and account. Notice given during an annual term prevents the next renewal if received by the deadline; it does not end the current annual commitment early. Fees remain due during the current term unless Dodo agrees otherwise in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.
Dodo records the accepting representative, the business they represent, the acceptance time, and a copy of the terms and pricing accepted. You can download the accepted agreement from the payment step or the Billing page. Changes to this public page alone do not change the term of an already accepted agreement.
Enterprise Agreement Supersedence
If you and Dodo have entered into a Master Services Agreement, Cloud Service Agreement, Order Form, Data Processing Agreement, or other signed agreement governing your use of the Services, that agreement will control over these Terms to the extent of any conflict.
Intellectual Property
The Services, including all software, content, trademarks, service marks, branding, designs, workflows, and related intellectual property, are owned by Dodo or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted under these Terms, no rights are granted to you by implication or otherwise. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Services except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law.
Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dodo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenues, goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or related to the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dodo's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the amount paid by you to Dodo for the Services in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Termination
Dodo may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you misuse the Services, violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or use the Services in a manner that could harm Dodo, the Services, or others. Upon termination, your right to access and use the Services will immediately end. Any handling or deletion of data following termination will be governed by Dodo's Privacy Policy and any applicable agreement between the parties.
Changes to These Terms
Dodo may update these Terms from time to time. If Dodo makes a material change, Dodo will provide reasonable advance notice, including by email, through the Services, or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Changes to a subscription commitment, renewal obligation, or price will be communicated separately and will not retroactively alter an accepted agreement. Any consent required by applicable law will be obtained.
